ICEHOTEL 

ICEHOTEL is situated in the village of Jukkasjärvi, 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland. Its heart is the River Torne, which flows freely through the unspoilt wilderness.  The pure water and steady movement of the water creates the clearest ice possible.  During the winter, the river is covered in a metre thick ice layer, which is the source of ICEHOTEL and its unique art and design. The entire ICEHOTEL is on loan from the mighty Torne River. Just a few weeks before, fish swam in the water and the river was a crashing torrent of whitewater. And very soon, when the spring comes and then finally the summer, the rooms, the suites, the bar, the reception, in fact the entire creation will once again become part of the rushing rapids coursing toward the sea, until next year.
