Northern Lights Excursions

Visit to Aurora Sky Station
Popular tour as the Sky Station sits high in the mountain in Abisko National Park. Cosy cafe, souvenir shop and northern lights photo exhibition. No childrens prices.

Northern Lights Husky
** Simply Sweden Recommendation **
Learn a little about lliving with and play with the friendly huskies before sitting comfortably on a sled wrapped in reindeer skin and heading into the mountains. Turn off the headlights and admire the night sky. With luck the Northern Lights will shine above you!

Northern Lights - Lavvu Experience
Venture into the night time and mountain wilderness by snow shoe. Head for a traditional Sami Lavvu (tipi). This is a 2hr30 excursion into the surrounding beauty and with luck the northern lights will shimmer above! 2030-2300. 20Dec-31Mar Mon & Sat.

Northern Lights Snowshoe
One of the most traditional ways to explore the Lapland mountains. Head to a panormaic viewing point and keep your eyes on the night sky for the famous northern lights.

Northern Lights Golf - yes you read correctly - GOLF!!

Skiing activities
Björkliden is home to a small but excellent ski resort. Everything you need for your skiing / snowboard holiday can be arranged locally. The ski season starts on 6Feb and ends on 4May. The Northern Lights season is up to 31Mar.

Mountain Tour to Låktatjåkko
Amazing tour across bare mountain tops as you head to Swedens highest mountain station, Låktatjåkko Mountain Station. Chance to purchase some famous waffles! The Mountain Stn opens in late Feb / early Mar when conditions allow. When not open this tour will take a scenic route through the mountains and a lunch pack is available to purchase from the hotel.

Moutain Tour - Long

Enjoying stunning mountain views as you over the frozen lake Törneträsk and towards Riksgränsen at the Norwegian border. Head to Swedens highest mountain station at 1228m above sea level where it is possible to buy coffee and the famous waffles.
The Mountain Stn opens in late Feb / early Mar when conditions allow. When not open this tour will take a scenic route through the mountains and a lunch pack is available to purchase from the hotel.

Day tour to Låktatjåkko Mountain Lodge

Take the snow cat from Björkliden to Sweden's highest mountain station at 1228 meters above sea level. You have the opportunity to purchase the famous waffles at the mountain station. If only a small amount of people book this tour the excursion will be by snowmobile & sled.

Snowshoe Tour
One of the best ways to see the mountain wilderness not matter what the conditions. Visit some of the guides favourite spots and enjoy the view! £39pp Wed and Sat, 1.30-3pm. Children up to 15yrs £19.

Kåppas Caves
Visit one of Swedens longest cave systems - Kåpas caves. Head deep into the mountainside with headlamps on - let the adventure begin! Not suitable for those with a fear of enclosed spaces. Mon and Fri 1600-1800 £66pp. Child up to 15yrs £33.

Warm Clothing
Warm outer clothing including snowmobile suit, mittens, hat and boots can be rented locally for approx. 100sek per person per day.
