Recognised as one of the best locations in the world to witness the awe inspiring Northern Lights, Bjorkliden is located in the very north of Swedish Lapland, high in the Swedish mountains. The climate & location mean this part of Sweden is widely recognised as one of the best places in the northern hemisphere to see the Northern Lights.

Björkliden is located in the same mountain valley as Abisko and Abisko National Park. It offers exceptional views over Lake Torneträsk and of Lapporten, the gigantic natural door to the mountains.

Day 1

Arrival from another holiday with Simply Sweden or on a flight from UK. 1hr scenic transfer through the snow covered landscape from Kiruna airport to Björkliden. Keep your eyes open for Lapporten (the gateway to the mountains).
Check in to your north facing room / cabin offering outstanding views of Lake Torneträsk and Lapporten. 3 course evening meal in the restaurant Lapporten. The restaurant offers panoramic views across the night sky, the mountains and of the gateway to the mountains.

Northern Lights activity included
Northern Lights Snow Show
Venture into the night time and mountain wilderness by snow shoe, away from artificial light. This is a 1hr excursion into the surrounding beauty and with luck the northern lights will shimmer above! 9-10pm

Day 2

Breakfast and a day at leisure. Take some time to admire the mountain scenery. A comprehensive buffet lunch is served in the restaurant.

Northern Lights Evening activity included
Abisko Aurora Sky Station
3 course evening meal served in Lapporten Restaurant before the short 15min transfer to the Aurora Sky station chair lift. Departure at 1930 return at 0030 approx.

Other suggested activities during your stay

Day 3
Breakfast and day at leisure. Your evening meal is served at the Aurora Snow Bar. Chance to relax and admire the starry night sky and hopefully the magic of the northern lights as they dance in colours of green, yellow, blue and red in sky above.

Day 4 (4 night option only)
Day at leisure and an additional night to increase your chances of seeing the northern lights.

Last Day
Breakfast and transfers to ICE HOTEL. Chance to explore this magnificent structure of ICE. Continue your holiday here with Simply Sweden or transfer to the airport for your flights.
