Norwegian Coastal Express - The Ships

A fleet of 11 ships cruise the beautiful Norwegian Fjords taking you through breath taking scenery and giving you the opportunity to see natural phenomena from Bergen in the south to Kirkenes in the far north.

MS Lofoten
Full of character and described as the old favourite and a boat to which many passengers return to time and time again. Built in 1964 and refurbished in 2004 Lofoten is a 'listed' boat and now a historical Norwegian monument. During the winter MS Lofoten operates on the Coastal Voyage and during the summer explores the Svalbard Archipelago.

MS Kong Harald (King Harald)
A majestic ship paying tribute to the King of Norway and other famous Norwegians. MS Kong Harald was launched in 1993 to marks 100 yrs of Hurtigruten Coastal Voyages.

MS Nordlys (Northern Lights)
Named after the magical Northern Lights and decorated by local artists to reflect this natural phenomenon.

MS Nordkapp (North Cape)
Named after a beautiful rock formation on the Northern tip of Norway with panoramic lounges to admire the stunning views. Recently upgraded to include 4 junior suites and 2 outside jacuzzis. Usually has 2 summers every year cruising the Antarctic during the southern hemisphere summer and returning to the Norwegian Coastal Express for the northern hemisphere summer.

MS Nordnorge (Northern Norway)
Like her sister the MS Nordkapp the MS Nordnorge usually has 2 summers cruising the Antarctic during the southern hemisphere summer and returning to the Norwegian Coastal Express for the northern hemisphere summer. Features suites and junior suites, jacuzzis and panoramic lounges.

MS Richard With (1st captain & founder of Hurtigruten)
Named after the 1st captain and founder of the Hurtigruten Norway Coastal Voyages and home to a art display by the famous Harr family. Panoramic lounges, 8 mini suites and 2 outdoor jacuzzis.

MS Polarlys (Polar Lights)
The 3rd Hurtigruten vessel to carry the Polarlys name. Extensive panoramic windows for unrivaled views of the scenery!

MS Nordstjernen (The North Star)
The oldest ship in the Hurtigruten fleet the MS Nordstjernen is a traditional working ship and like the MS Lofoten attracts guests time and time again. Has served many of the Hurtigruten lines but now primarily serves the Norwegian Coastal Express.

MS Midnatsol (Midnight Sun)
A modern well equipped ship working the Norwegian Fjords and has quickly become a favourite amongst regular travellers. 2 jacuzzis, panoramic lounges and one of the biggest ships cruising the norwegian fjords.

MS Trollfjord
Named after one of the most spectacular fjords on the norwegian coast. Similar to her sister the MS Midnatsol offering a high standard of accommodation whilst cruising the norwegian fjords. Jacuzzi and panoramic lounges are favourite locations with the guests.

MS Vesterålen
Named after the first ever Hurtigruten Coastal Steamer.One of the oldest and smallest ships operating through the Norwegian Fjords and one which is packed with character.
