Christinehofs Ekopark - Skåne

Our most accessible self-catering holidays are located in this fabulous eco park and nature reserve in the heart of the beautiful Skåne countryside.

Overview

Welcome to Skåne (Scania in English) and Christinehofs Castle and ekopark. Full of history, with many stories to tell, these self-catering holiday homes offer a great escape for couples and families looking for quiet times away from the bustle of the big cities. The focus is on the outdoors and nature. With a wide range of activities available within the park and around Skåne; no matter what the weather you will always find something to keep all ages entertained.

The park, based around the impressive Christinehofs Slott (Castle), is a nature reserve which is important both culturally and within industry. The aim of the park is to preserve this heritage, conserve the natural environment and enable all guests to leave with some knowledge about the local area and society's wider impact on nature.

The region of Skåne is littered with many sites of historical and cultural importance. The famous Öresund bridge took five years to complete and opened in 2000. Connecting Denmark and Sweden across the Öresund Strait, the Öresund bridge has opened up tourism in the Öresund region (Skåne and the area around Copenhagen). Skåne is also home to two famous detective series. The Öresund Bridge is where the criminal drama The Bridge was based, and Ystad is home to Wallander, played on British TV screen by Kenneth Branagh. Ales Stenar is located on the south coast close to Ystad. No one knows for sure why they are there or what they represent but they are widely regarded as Sweden's Stonehenge.

Skåne is also famous for its long sandy, shallow, beaches, Abolsut Vodka and fruit farming. It has some of Europe's most fertile soil. Relax and enjoy the long summer days in Skåne.
