New Year Special 2011/12

Here at Simply Sweden we have designed a very special New Year holiday taking in the best of Stockholm and of course the World famous and original ICE HOTEL.  Due to popular demand this holiday has limited availability and is on a first come first served basis.

Stockholm is one of the most attractive capital cities at any time of year. Built on 14 islands around one of Europe’s largest and best-preserved medieval city centres (The Old Town), the Swedish capital is superbly positioned, with stunning and extremely varied scenery. Where ever your interest lies, be it history, art, opera, modern dance, traditional handicrafts or contemporary design, Stockholm has something for you with its wealth of museums, theatres, sights and events.

ICE HOTEL is now over 20 years old and every year and incredible hotel of ice is re-born from the frozen water of the Torne River. Every year talented artists from across the globe gather in northern Sweden to create magical ICEsculptures. Huskies, snowmobiles & northern lights also provide the entertainment!

Fly between Stockholm and Lapland. You will be met at Kiruna Airport by an ICEHOTEL representative. Standard transfer to ICE HOTEL where you will receive warm outer clothing and a guided tour of this superb ICE structure.
2 nights warm accommodation in a comfortable and spacious hotel room. Take your time to explore the village of Jukkasjärvi, hop on a snowmobile or look to the skies for the Northern Lights. Take your pick from an excellent selection of activities.

31 Dec - New Years Eve

New year's Eve at ICE HOTEL. Soak up the atmosphere at ICEHOTEL as you are given a tour about 'how to sleep well at ICEHOTEL'. You will have an ICEroom, a room of snow & ice with ice furniture and unique ice sculptures. Crawl into your thick sleeping bags especially designed for ICEHOTEL after the 'surprise' new year celebrations at ICEHOTEL.

Overnight Snowmobile excursion (1 night)

15min transfer to the snowmobile garage to pick up your snowmobiles. At the Wilderness Camp there are 2 wilderness suites and a large 3 bedroom log cabin with private rooms on the banks of the Torne River each with a log fire. There is running water and electricity! You will be catered for on a half board basis including evening meal and breakfast. The meals are prepared in the log cabin at the Wilderness Camp over a hot stove. At the Wilderness Camp you will find WC’s, showers and saunas. Your evening also includes time in a hot tub which will be kept warm for up to 3 hours. Look to the night skies for Northern Lights and a glittering array of stars.

After your exhilarating overnight excursion through Swedish Lapland you will be dropped off at the airport in time for your lunch time flight back to the UK, landing 1750.
