Winter Tour

(Recommended December to March)

This 7 night winter tour is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast, or those seeking a relaxing time sitting by warming log fires. There will be plenty of opportunity for downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiles and husky sleighs. After an exhausting day in the snow you can relax in a wood fired sauna, a luxurious hot tub or enjoy a soothing massage. During this tour you will be catered for on a half board basis including a 3 course evening meal.

Days 1 to 3

Arrival at Stockholm airport, collect your hire car and head for the Fryksås Hotel. It enjoys an idyllic location, approx 300km from Stockholm,  with outstanding views over the wonderful Dalarna countryside. Gourmet food and personal service combined with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere allow you to enjoy your time together in the Swedish countryside away from the hustle and bustle of the large British cities. This hotel has been described in Sweden as a ‘real gem’.

You can enjoy the sparkling white countryside from the comfort of a husky or horse sleigh. If you prefer a little more excitement try a snowmobile excursion or downhill skiing. When you return you can warm up in the hot tub with a glass of champagne.

Days 3 to 6

The cosy Hotel Tänndalen has a perfect mountainside location approx 250kms from Fryksås, offering views over the lakes, valleys and mountains,  and is one of the most popular holiday locations in the Swedish winter. The hotel features an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and miles of cross country ski tracks. Down hill skiing is just a short distance away. The restaurant is widely appreciated for its fine cuisine and is a member of Chaine des Rotisseurs featuring a varied menu based on local produce. The hotel was built in the 1920's and has 60 rooms, chalets and apartments. 

Days 6 to 8

Björknäsgårdens Hotel offers a high standard of comfort and service on the shores of Lake Revsundssjön in Northern Sweden, approx 250km from Tänndalen. It is perfect for a peaceful winter escape or for one seeking adventure in the wilderness. With the highest ranking restaurant from the 3 hotels featured on this tour the food will not disappoint. A range of winter activities is available including husky sleighs, walking, cross country skiing, ice skating, snow mobiles and driving on ice. The hotel also has a sauna and hot tub by the lake. You're return journey is from Östersund airport, just 75km from the hotel.
