We recommend you book your activities and excursions for your stay at Treehotel 8 weeks prior to departure. Prices may change without warning due to factors outside the control of Simply Sweden. All times include any applicable transfers and are approximate. Please ask for children's prices. You must let us know of any dietary requirements at the time of booking. All dates are approximate and subject to condition. If a tour doesn't go ahead due to weather conditions you will receive a full refund. Some activities have a minimum number of 4 people. If you are less don't worry , if may still be possible to do the activity as it may be possible to join in with another group.

Winter activities

A speed sensation
Test your balance and skiing skills whilst being pulled by a horse! You will have trick skis and the speed depends on your stability. You will be under the constant eye of an expert guide. If you do fall, the snow is soft! Departure at 10am for a 2hr excursion. The transfer time is 10-15mins. Min age 12yrs. Min 2 guests. Available 1Jan to 20Mar.

Husky sled in Boreal Forest
A 2hr husky excursion through the glittering Boreal Forest. Sit back, relax and enjoy the view as you glide elegantly over pure white snow. The only sound is the reassuring crunching of snow as the sled runners grip the snow underneath. You will be provided with hat, gloves and thermal suit for this tour. Min age 12 yrs. Min 4 guests. Includes coffee around an open fire.

Snug Sleigh Ride
Sit in a cosy warm horse drawn sleigh (no age limit when accompanied by an adult) or ride your own horse (min 12yrs). Explore the Lapland landscape often under clear blue skies. Departure time 10am for a 3hr excursion. After returning to the stables you will gather round an open fire and enjoy a packed lunch from local ingredients. Min 2 guests. Available 1Jan to 20Mar.

Ice Fishing on Luleå River ** SIMPLY SWEDEN RECOMMENDATION **
4hr ice fishing excursion, departure at 10am. If you do catch anything you will have the chance to prepare and cook it over an open fire. Approx. 2hrs is spent ice fishing and then you light and warm up around a crackling log fire, grilling fish for lunch. Available 1Jan to 31Mar.

Snowshoes in the Wilderness ** SIMPLY SWEDEN RECOMMENDATION **
5-6hr guided snowshoe excursion through the forests of Lapland. One of the best ways to gain intimate knowledge of our fragile environment. It's also great fun and surprisingly easy! You will be provided with thermal outer garments before departure. Whilst searching for animal tracks you will learn about the long history of these intriguing forests. You will learn some basic survival skills, such as making fire on snow. After lunch you will head for a high peak offering spectacular views over never ending pine forests. Keep your camera close by, this is a great excursion for seeing moose and reindeer. Min 2 guests. Min age 12yrs.

Build your own igloo
9hrs. Let's go back to basics. Let's build one of the most environmentally friendly homes ever! Build a real igloo out of snow blocks using traditional Sami techniques. It is an art and is quite difficult to master but with instructions from the experts you will succeed! Transfer to Jokkmokk (approx 1hr) and a short ski tour on traditional wooden skis onto the frozen lake. Igloo building is a team activity, ideally 4 people. It's hard work but very satisfying. Lunch is served and regular breaks are taken round the camp fire, making it feel just like home. Min 4 guests. Min age 12yrs. 15Dec to 20Mar.

Sami Culture
A unique opportunity to take a deeper look into the traditional culture of the Sami. Learn just how important reindeer with your Sami hosts, the Eriksson Family. Once you have been you will want to dig deeper and deeper into their fascinating lives. Includes a short snowmobile transfer to Gorgim Lake for a traditional Sami lunch in a tee-pee around a camp fire. Transfer time is approx. 1hr15 from Treehotel. Min 4 guests.

Village walking Harads
The perfect opportunity to learn about the culture in remote Northern Sweden and Swedish Lapland. Architecture and history of years gone by feature heavily on this 2hr30 walk. You will visit a traditional local family and your hosts will prepare traditional Swedish fika (coffee and pastry). Visit during festival periods and see traditional decorations. Mid-summer and the midnight sun. Winter and the pure white blanket of snow and traditional Christmas decorations. Min 3 guests.
