Swedish Lapland

Swedish Lapland is a land of extremes. During the winter temperatures average -15C and the sun gives way to magical ribbons of greens, blues, red and purples as the northern lights dance across the starry sky. During the summer the sun never sets and temperatures can easily reach 20C or more.

Between September and March the northern lights (aurora borealis) bring a certain magical touch to your holiday in Swedish Lapland. The uncertainty they bring and the cosmic nature of intense colours, including blues, greens and purples, dancing in ribbons across the night sky make them a major attraction for holidays to Lapland.

Between May and August the sun never sets and night ceases to exist, the northern lights give way to the sun. The indigenous Sami follow their reindeer to the mountains and the locals celebrate these long sunny days with outdoor adventures and food served up by nature. Walking and hiking are popular activities and you should leave your body clock at home - it simple does not work!
