Kosta Boda Art Hotel

In the middle of the Kingdom of Crystal (locally called Glasriket) you will find southern Sweden and summer’s answer to ICE HOTEL. The unique decorations are made by the world famous artists of Kosta Boda Glassworks, and there is a lot of glass! The illuminated glass art on the hotel facade required 5 tonnes of glass & all in all a hundred tonnes of glass will surprise you in various forms, shapes and dazzling colours. Pamper yourself with a massage or a swim in the indoor or outdoor swimming pools. Relax in a juccuzzi or sauna or experiment with a touch of glass blowing. The Glass Bar will be cobalt blue and the tables and chairs carefully designed to reflect light from the glass lights above. Sundbyholms Slott

Fulfil your fairytale romantic dreams in the Malärn region and we invite you to take a romantic break at the historic Sundbyholms Slott, just 1 hour from Stockholm. The original castle was built in the 1640’s by the Admiral of the Fleet. Explore Europe’s northern most beech forest or relax on lake Malären’s longest natural sand beach. For a little more activity take a ride on horseback or have a picnic on a log raft. All meals are served in the castle where local products are carefully selected and prepared by the Castle’s chef. Vadstena Klosterhotellet ****

A unique hotel in one of Sweden’s oldest buildings just a short walk from the narrow historic alleys of Vadstena and on the shores of Sweden's second largest lake Vättern. Vadstena Klosterhotellet is an imposing 13th century convent and the hotel is largely located in the same medieval buildings. The rooms retain many of their original features and the pupils of the Vadstena Academy often hold opera rehearsals, much to the delight of the guests. Indulge yourself in a little bit of luxury for a long weekend at Grythyttan. Probably the best known and most written about country house throughout Sweden, famed for its restaurant and wine cellar (over 7,000 bottles from around the world), Swedes travel from miles around to reach the small village of Grythyttan. The hotel has 22 buildings built between 1640 & 1960, with a series of small courtyards and gardens. Each bedroom, of which there are 60, has been individually decorated, with carefully preserved antique furniture. Gimo Herrgård (Country House)

Gimo Herrgård originates from the 1700’s and was the first manor house to be built in the Gustavian style, when iron and forest industries were the largest source of income. It is situated at the end of an impressive drive, by a beautiful lake and surrounded by ancient forests. The historic City of Uppsala is not far away with an impressive cathedral (Domkyrkan) and a castle that dominates the skyline. Gamla (Old) Uppsala is widely regarded as one of the most important historical sites in Sweden. [map]
