Southern Norwegian Fjords

Tailor Made Holidays to Norway!

We have travelled extensively in Norway, visiting Stavanger, Bergen and Oslo. It's time to share our experiences with you.

Stavanger is a beautiful coastal town with its foundations in the 11th century. Located in the south western corner of Norway you will find colourful streets with listed buildings. The Lysefjord is a major attraction along with the pulpit rock, standing 604m above the Lysefjord.

From Bergen the Hardanger Fjord is easily accessible with regular sightseeing tours by coach and boat. Bergen is also a great location from which to admire the scenery from vantage points. The city funicular and the cable car at the 'Seven Mountains' are such places.

Flåm is located at the end of the Aurlandsfjord, an extension of Sognefjord and a village with a famous railway. From Flåm take the famous Flåm railway to Myrdal (one of the worlds steepest railway lines) and change to the regular trains for a journey back to Bergen.

There is lots to do and we recommend a visit to the tourist office. There are several fjord excursions including the Hardanger and Sogne Fjords. The famous Flåm railway is easily accessible and the train to / from Oslo offers spectacular scenery. A guided walk is a good idea to obtain local knowledge. Admire the views from the funicular (in the city) or take the cable car to the top of the 'seven mountains'.
