From Bergen the Hardanger Fjord is easily accessible with regular sightseeing tours by coach and boat. Bergen is also a great location from which to admire the scenery from vantage points. The city funicular and the cable car at the 'Seven Mountains' are such places.

Flåm is located at the end of the Aurlandsfjord, an extension of Sognefjord. A typical fjord v

The Admiral Hotel is located on the quayside in Bergen. Around 50% of the rooms offer a harbour view, with views of the historic quay just across the water. You will also find a waterside terrace. The hotel is conveniently located just a couple of minutes walk from shops, bars & restaurants and the airport bus stop is conveniently located close to the tourist office on quayside.

Simply Sweden Recommendations
There is lots to do and we recommend a visit to the tourist office. There are several fjord excursions including the Hardanger and Sogne Fjords. The famous Flåm railway is easily accessible and the train to / from Oslo offers spectacular scenery. A guided walk is a good idea to obtain local knowledge. Admire the views from the funicular (in the city) or take the cable car to the top of the 'seven mountains'.

Fretheim Hotel - Flåm

This was an old manor house, which was used by English Lords to fish for Salmon and enjoy the scenery. There are 2 main routes into Flåm. The first by boat and the second by the famous Flåm railway. Both terminate at the quay side, just 2mins from the hotel. Flåm enjoys a busy summer season when the days are long, the sun is high and the fjords are at their most colourful.

Simply Sweden Recommendations
Take a trip by boat into the fjords and a journey on the Flåm railway, rent a bike, take a guided walk or rent a kayak and make a visit to the The Magical White Caves in Gudvangen.

Royal Christiania is situated less than 100m from the Central Station in Oslo and is close to the major shopping and entertainment districts and all the major tourist attractions are within easy reach. The water front is less than 10mins walk away. The history of Oslo dates back to 1000AD and can be found in Gamlebyen (Old Town). As a Scandinavian city it will come as no surprise that architecture and design feature heavily.

Simply Sweden recommendations
The Viking Ship museum houses the world's two best-preserved wooden Viking ships built in the 9th century. For architecture the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design is arguably the best place to start! The Oslo fjord has some good water based sight seeing opportunities.
