Excursions and Activities - Lapland 2008/9

We recommend you book your activities and excursions for your stay in Kiruna approx. 8 weeks prior to departure. All snowmobile activities require a driving licence that is valid in Sweden. Prices may change without warning due to factors outside the control of Simply Sweden. All times include any applicable transfers. Warm clothing is provided for the excursions, which includes hat, snowmobile suite, mittens and boots.

Husky transfers from Kiruna airport to your hotel
Journey through the magical winter wonderland of the ancient forests and frozen lakes. You may see some of the local wildlife including moose and reindeer.

• Drive your own team
  Great your eager team of 3 or 4 huskies at Kiruna airport and drive your own husky team to your hotel. Includes lunch at a wilderness camp. From £228pp

Snowmobiles

• Northern Lights Excursion
  A guided snowmobile tour in search of the Northern Lights. Includes supper.  £89 pp 2 per snowmobile. £128 single rider (7 to 11pm)
• Snowmobile tour
  Afternoon snowmobile excursion through the magical countryside surrounding Kiruna. Includes fika in the wilderness. £78 pp 2 per snowmobile. £116 single rider. (3hr30)
• Snowmobile safari
  A breathtaking tour through glittering forests in the beautiful winter wonderland that surrounds the Torne valley. You will drive in small groups and making your own tracks. You will drill a hole in the ice and try to catch our own lunch, but don't worry if the fish aren't biting, a lapish lunch and some other delicacies will be served around an open fire. £119 pp 2 per snowmobile. £157 single rider. • Snowmobile tour to ICEHOTEL
  You will be guided to ICEHOTEL where a visit to this architectural masterpiece is included. Includes fika in the wilderness. £110 pp 2 per snowmobile. £148 single rider.(4hrs30)
• High Mountain tour
  A magnificent tour to one of the most beautiful spots in Sweden at Lake Ladtjojaure with views of Sweden's highest mountain, Kebnekaise. Great opportunities to see wildlife such as moose. During the brake you have the chance to try some ice fishing and enjoy lunch with local delicacies. You really will appreciate just how big nature is. £137 pp 2 per snowmobile. £178 single rider. • Overnight at a Wilderness Camp
  A wonderful winter tour through some of Sweden's most exclusive scenery. You will be guided along the Torne river, searching for the finest views. You will be accommodated in a wilderness cabin with sauna and open fireplace. Your guide will prepare your evening meal before leaving you to enjoy almost complete silence. At breakfast time the guide will return and your snowmobile adventure continues. Add extra nights to your holiday from £195pp 2 per snowmobile, £245 single rider.(18-20hrs. Husky Sleighs

• Husky Excursion / Northern Lights
  One of the best ways to explore the wilderness during the winter month. Includes fika in the wilderness. An evening tour is available for those searching for the Northern Lights! £91 pp (2hrs30)
• Husky excursion with lunch
  Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride as you glide through the glorious white wilderness. Approx 25kms and includes lunch. £130 pp (4hrs)
• Drive your own Husky team
  One of the most exciting ways to see the snow covered countryside of Lapland. After some short instructions your guide will lead the way and you will have control of your own team of 3 or 4 huskies. Includes lunch. £216 pp (6hrs)
• Overnight Husky Tour
  One of our most popular additions to your holiday in Lapland. Meet your own team of 3 or 4 huskies for the following 20 hrs (approx) of wilderness adventure. You will be provided with warm clothing, refreshments, an evening meal and breakfast as you glide silently through magical snow covered forests and over frozen lakes. Overnight accommodation will be at a comfortable wilderness camp with a sauna in the beautiful white Swedish countryside. Extra nights to your holiday from £285 pp (18-20hrs.
