ICEHOTEL and Overnight Husky tour 2009/10

Enjoy the ultimate thrill of driving your own team of huskies, or sit back and relax as your guide shows the way! Fly from London to Kiruna and enjoy the world famous and original ICEHOTEL plus an unforgettable magical tour with some 4 legged friends. (You can also fly from Manchester with a stop over in Stockholm on the outbound journey).

Itinerary
Day 1 to 3
ICE HOTEL (2 nights)

Fly from the UK to Kiruna (via Stockholm) where you will be met by an ICEHOTEL representative. Standard transfer to ICE HOTEL where you will receive warm outer clothing and a guided tour of this superb ICE structure. You will spend one night in a snow room (upgrades below!) where you will be woken with a hot cup of lingon berry juice at your bedside. Your second night will be in comfortable warm accommodation at ICEHOTEL. Spend your time relaxing, admire the stunning scenery or join in some of the thrilling activities at ICE HOTEL. You will be accommodated on a bed and breakfast basis at ICE HOTEL.

Day 3
Overnight husky excursion - Wilderness Camp

You will be collected from your hotel after lunch for the short transfer to the husky kennels. Meet your own team of 3 or 4 huskies for the following 20 hrs (approx) of wilderness adventure. You will be provided with warm clothing and brief instructions about how to guide your team of huskies through the ancient snow covered forests of Swedish Lapland. A stop en route to the wilderness cabin includes a hot cup of coffee and a traditional Swedish pastry or sandwich.

This is a genuine wilderness experience in Swedish Lapland. The wilderness cabin usually used on this tour is basic yet comfortable. There is no electricity and water is sourced from the frozen lake just 100m from the cabin. There is a comfortable lounge / dining area and the bedroom has bunk beds. The cabin is heated by a real log fire and you can relax in the wood fired sauna while your guide prepares your evening meal over a hot stove. Don’t forget to keep your eyes on the night sky for the Northern Lights!

If you are looking for a little bit more luxury during your overnight husky tour we can offer you a wilderness suite on the banks of the Torne River. The wilderness suite has a private sauna and shower and you also have access to a hot tub during the evening. Upgrade from £180pp.

Day 4
Breakfast at the wilderness cabin and further exploration of this beautiful environment. Transfer to Kiruna airport / train station depending on your onward travel arrangements.

14 unique ICErooms will line the corridors of ICEHOTEL. Each room will be decorated with hand crafted ICEart and feature ICEfurniture.

Decorated with ICEart you will sleep in a thermal sleeping bag on a special bed built of snow and ice lined with a thick mattress and reindeer skin in one of the 24 SNOWrooms.
