Stockholm

Fly from the UK to Stockholm and stay in a city centre hotel close to all the major attractions. A wonderful city at any time of year. The centre of Stockholm is located on 14 islands within Stockholm harbour. Gamla Stan (The Old Town) is the centre, with narrow cobbled streets, designer shops and warming cafes and restaurants. We will include the Stockholm Tourist Card which includes all your transport on local buses, trains and underground services and gives free entry to all of Stockholm's major attractions.

Days 3 to 5
Luleå - Northern Sweden
Fly from Stockholm to Luleå and during the winter months you can expect to find this picturesque city blanketed in snow. You will stay at Stadshotellet in the heart of Luleå. Between January and March the hundreds of islands that make up the Luleå archipelago become more accessible as thick ice connects these tiny islands and ice roads are ploughed into the ice. We have specially selected 2 tours for your stay in Luleå.
In 1996, Unesco added Gammelstad Church Town to its list of heritage objects worldwide that are deemed irreplaceable to mankind. Gammelstad has one of the biggest and best preserved church towns in the world, with more than 400 Church cottages surrounding the mediaeval stone church.
A guided snowmobile tour of a very special archipelago between Sweden and Finland in the Gulf of Botnia. You leave the mainland for the 900 islands of the frozen Archipelago, visit the spectacular drift ice area and pack ice. On a beautiful island you will have a wilderness lunch prepared over an open fire and try some ice fishing.

Days 5 to 8

Take a scenic 4hr train journey between Luleå and Kiruna through ancient snow covered forests. You will be met at Kiruna Station by an ICEHOTEL representative. Standard transfer to ICE HOTEL where you will receive warm outer clothing and a guided tour of this superb ICE structure. You will spend one night in a snow room (upgrades and information) where you will be woken with a hot cup of lingon berry juice at your bedside. Your second & third nights will be in comfortable warm accommodation at ICEHOTEL. Spend your time relaxing, admire the stunning scenery or join in some of the thrilling activities at ICE HOTEL. You will be accommodated on a bed and breakfast basis at ICE HOTEL.
