ICEHOTEL on a budget - 2009/10

New for 2010! Simply Sweden is now able to offer an alternative ICE HOTEL holiday for those travelling on a budget. You will stay at ICEHOTEL and enjoy a great nights sleep at -5C. The cheapest dates to stay at ICE HOTEL are on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights and we can provide excellent alternative warm accommodation at Ripan, just 30mins from ICEHOTEL. Northern Lights, snowmobiles and huskies are all possible both at ICE HOTEL and at Ripan.

Itinerary
Day 1
ICE HOTEL - Lapland

Fly from the UK to Kiruna via Stockholm. Short 20min transfer from the airport to ICEHOTEL. You will find time to visit the ICEHOTEL shop or enjoy an activity or excursion. Guided tour of ICE HOTEL and check in to your SNOWroom, a room built of snow and ice with a comfortable bed, thick matress and cosy sleeping bag lined with a reindeer skin. You will be woken in the morning with a hot cup of lingon berry juice at your bedside. Please see below for possible room upgrades.

Days 2 to 3
Ripan - Kiruna, Lapland

Time to explore the area surrounding ICEHOTEL. You choose your time to transfer to Ripan. Ripan is perfectly located in the capital of Lapland, Kiruna. It is just 10 minutes walk from the city centre where ice festivals and seasonal markets are well worth a visit. Ripan is just steps away from snow covered forests, stunning white wilderness and shy wildlife making this the perfect winter escape from hustle and bustle of large British cities. Ripan is just a 30 minute transfer from ICEHOTEL making it pefrect for alternative cheaper warm accommotion. Accommodation is modern and comfortable in individual hotel standard cabins, or stuga (as the Swedish call them!). All cabins have a bathroom with shower and WC, drying area, cable TV and telephone. The generous breakfast buffet and your evening meals are served in the cosy restaurant, which was fully refurnished last year. There are also family cabins with 1 double bedroom and a smaller bedroom with bunk beds, perfect for a family of 4 with children of all ages. These cabins have recently been refurbished to include a fridge, microwave / oven and small hob. Ripan has a fine restaurant, and like most Swedish restaurants, the ingredients are sourced locally and in tune with the passing seasons. The wine cellar is always heavily stocked with the perfect compliment to your meal. For a full list of activities please click!

Day 4
Transfers to the airport and flights back to the UK.

There will be 30 unique ARTsuites elaborately decorated with ICEart and ICEsculptures. 15 will be created by ICEHOTELs own team of artists. The remaining 15 will be designed by carefully selected renowned artists from across the globe. These are spacious rooms for that special occasion.
ICEHOTEL ICErooms
14 unique ICErooms will line the corridors of ICEHOTEL. Each room will be decorated with hand crafted ICEart and feature ICEfurniture.
ICEHOTEL SNOWrooms
Decorated with ICEart you will sleep in a thermal sleeping bag on a special bed built of snow and ice lined with a thick mattress and reindeer skin in one of the 24 SNOWrooms.
Group rooms
So more of you can enjoy the unique experience of staying at ICEHOTEL some of the ARTsuites, ICErooms and SNOWrooms will have space for up to 4 people.
