Introduction to ICEHOTEL
ICEHOTEL is situated in the picturesque village of Jukkasjärvi, 200 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland, on the shores of the River Torne, which flows freely through the unspoiled wilderness.  As winter approaches every Autumn the pure clear water and gentle movement creates crystal clear ice up to 1 metre thick. This unique building material is the source of ICEHOTEL, ICEchurch and the Absolute ICEbar. In fact the entire ICEHOTEL is on loan from the mighty river Torne.

This year the world famous and original ICEHOTEL is creating yet another unique architectural masterpiece, constructed purely from ICE. Construction will begin in November 2008, some time after the first ice has formed and the first layer of magical snow has fallen. The doors to ICEHOTEL will open on Wednesday 10th December 2008 and building work continues into early January. This is a fantastic time to visit and see the evolution and creation of such an amazing ICE structure. You may have already seen this on TV so now is the time to visit in person with Simply Sweden.

ICEHOTEL Rooms
Every year ICEHOTEL has a surprise in store and this year is no different! Your rooms of ICE are more spectacular than ever:
ICEHOTEL ARTsuites   [ARTsuites 1]   [ARTsuites 2]
There will be 30 unique ARTsuites elaborately decorated with ICEart and ICEsculptures. 15 will be created by ICEHOTELs own team of artists. The remaining 15 will be designed by carefully selected renowned artists from across the globe. These are spacious rooms for that special occasion.
ICEHOTEL ICErooms
14 unique ICErooms will line the corridors of ICEHOTEL. Each room will be decorated with hand crafted ICEart and feature ICEfurniture.
ICEHOTEL SNOWrooms
Decorated with ICEart you will sleep in a thermal sleeping bag on a special bed built of snow and ice lined with a thick mattress and reindeer skin in one of the 24 SNOWrooms.
Group rooms
So more of you can enjoy the unique expereince of staying at ICEHOTEL some of the ARTsuites, ICErooms and SNOWrooms will have space for up to 4 people.
