Escape - Little Sweden

Experience small village culture, traditional red stugor (cottages), wildlife, swim in warm lakes, enjoy delicious local food, all in the space of a few days.

Overview

With just a short holiday it is difficult to get a sense of what a country is all about. Little Sweden is different: experience small village culture, traditional red stugor (cottages), wildlife, swim in warm lakes, enjoy delicious local food, all in the space of a few days.

Experience the silence, remoteness and traditions surrounding rural Sweden. A typical Swede works in a big city, such as Stockholm, but will have a summer house somewhere by a lake, easily accessible within 2 or 3 hours of Stockholm - a place to escape, relax, recharge the batteries and forget about work and big city life for a few days.

Åmot
Options for private islands, wilderness bear safaris and we highly recommend the ‘Ride Like the Vikings’ excursion.

Fyksås
In the famous region of Dalarna, often referred to as ‘Sweden in miniature’, Fryksås is famous for its historic farming buildings and scenic views across Lake Orsa. Orsa bear park is just around the corner.

Tällberg
A small traditional Swedish village with quiet streets lined with red timber cottages on the shores of Lake Siljan, bustling with activity during the summer months. Visit the many local craft shops, cosy cafés and small restaurants.

This is a flexible holiday and can include Stockholm, or our other 'Escape' holidays, such as an overnight bear safari or a 2 night stay on a private island.
