Accommodation

Hotel Dalecarlia, Tällberg - Dalarna

Please see the gallery for more images.

Quality Hotel and Spa Dalecarlia is one of the most famous spa hotels in Sweden and is located in one of the most traditional villages in Sweden, Tällberg, just 270km (160 miles) from Stockholm. Tällberg, and this region, are often referred to as Little Sweden as quiet roads are lined with small wooden red stugor (cottages). Tällberg is located on the shores of Lake Siljan, Sweden’s 6th largest lake, which was created by a meteor impact 377 million years ago.

Facilities include 97 bedrooms, a restaurant focusing on local produce in tune with the seasons, an outdoor Jacuzzi and an indoor pool all offering views across Lake Siljan, surrounded by vast expanses of forests, inspiring lakes and wild nature giving a sense of calm and escapism.

Kabin - Ockelbo

Click on the image for more photos!

A little red cabin in the forest, on a private island somewhere in middle Sweden - it doesn't get more typically Swedish than this! Let the pace of life slow to a leisurely stroll, a gentle paddle in the canoe or a refreshing swim in the lake. Simply relax, enjoy the view and listen to the sound of nature.

KABIN has space for a maximum of 5 people (a double bed and space for 3 in single beds) and is only accessible by boat. There is running water and 12V electricity, which are genuine luxuries in the wilderness. There is a shower, but if you prefer Swedish, try a dip in the lake!

Your meals are based on permaculture design principles with a heavy emphasis on locally produced and organic food. Your stay at KABIN is about reducing our impact on the environment and being at one with nature. The organic ingredients for your meal will be provided along with a mouth-watering recipe – cook at your leisure! Please note KABIN does not have the option to purchase alcohol locally. You are welcome to bring your own!

NOFO Hotel - Stockholm

An excellent small and personal award winning hotel located in a listed building from 1780 and on the fashionable island of Södermalm. This is where the locals live. Just 10 mins walk from the centrally located Gamla Stan (Old Town) and 2 mins from the nearest underground station at Medborgarplatsen.

Folkungagatan is a street with a laid back atmosphere on Södermalm. This has been the focal point for artisan, cool and creative design, shops and music. Split into 2 areas, SOFO (south of Folkungagatan) and NOFO (north of Folkungagatan) this is a great location from which to experience the real Stockholm.

We recommend an upgrade to Superior Rooms where possible.

Activities & Excursions

Escape - Swedish Family Style!

Your experience of Sweden will change with the seasons:

Spring
In spring the colour returns to the countryside and the days get longer and longer until the nights vanish and turn to dusk and twilight. Sweden comes alive with colour!

Summer
Sweden is famous for long summer days and during June, July and most of August Swedes immerse themselves in warm lakes and spend most of their waking hours outdoors.

Autumn
Bright reds, yellows and browns create a picturesque backdrop and the early morning mist dances like fairies over the lakes. The best time of year to walk and hike in this region. A quieter more relaxing time to visit.

Stockholm Suggestions

We don't have any set activities here as there is such a variety of activities and excursions that appeal to a range of tastes. Recommendations include a boat trip through the archipelago, a visit to the Vasa Museum and a walk around Gamla Stan (The Old Town).
