Gastronomic Tour of Sweden

(recommended at any time of year)

We have carefully selected some of Sweden’s best known country hotels and restaurants so you can experience top quality gourmet food and local specialties across the whole country. You will not be disappointed with the quality and variety as the Swedes take immense pride in their food. We believe that we have designed this tour to leave your taste buds demanding more.

Day 1 (200 miles)
Arrival at Stockholm’s international airport. Collect your hire car and turn North for Fryksås Hotell. A first class restaurant described as a ‘real gem’. Specialities are bear, fish and game, all from local sources.

Day 2 (128 miles)
Nicknamed the "temple of gastronomy" Grythyttans Gästgivaregård the chefs prepare all the dishes with the utmost skill and respect for the raw materials. With one of Sweden’s largest wine cellars, you can participate in wine and champagne tasting or just select a wine to enhance your meal.

Day 3 (164 miles)
The chefs at the Albert Kök Hotel have won prestigious awards such as the Sparbankstiftelsens prize for their gastronomic skills. This is the home and training ground of the West Sweden Culinary Olympics Team so do not be surprised if you see them at the hotel.

Day 4 (179 miles along the beautiful West Coast)
Located in the food capital of Sweden, Skåne, Rusthållargården retains a touch of class that comes with all of Skånes restaurants. Maintaining local traditions is important and at Rusthållargården they are active members of the Culinary Heritage Skåne project.

Day 5 (83 miles through the heart of Skånes food sources)
The second restaurant in the renowned Skåne region is prize winning and prides it’s self on the passion the chefs have in preparing and presenting your food. At Åhus Gästgivaregård the menu changes with the seasons, ensuring a new experience every time you visit.

Day 6 (208 miles past gorgeous lakes you can stop and bathe in)
On the shores of Lake Vättern, we give you the opportunity to dine in the fabulous dining room of Vadstena Klosterhotel. A 700 year old wine cellar contains wine to complement any meal: specialities are game and shell fish.

Day 7 (108 miles into the countryside South West of Stockholm)
Located on it’s own island, we take you to the best kitchen Sörmland has to offer, with culinary inspiration drawn from all over the world.

Day 8 (just 1 hour to Stockholm)
