Mid-summer is widely celebrated in Sweden at the end of June as the locals escape the big cities for the rural surroundings of the countryside to celebrate the longest day of the year. The traditionally nomadic indigenious Sami herd their reindeer from forests to mountains and during the long summer days the Scandinavias escape to their waterside log cabins for peaceful retreat.
