You will visit Gothenburg in the South, visit the Bohuslän archipelago and spend some time on the car free Koster Islands close to the Norwegian border. Please remember this tour is designed to feed your imagination. We tailor make all our holidays so you can lengthen or shorten your tour and choose where you stay in West Sweden!

Itinerary
Day 1 to 3
Gothenburg

Spend 2 nights at the city centre 4 star Park Avenue Hotel, including 48 hour Gothenburg Passes for all guests. Gothenburg is Sweden’s second biggest city and the gateway to West Sweden. One of the real joys of Gothenburg is its maritime locations. The local archipelago is made up of a myriad of islands with gently rounded rocky shores. They range from large inhabited islands to tiny, barren islets, and make it a very attractive summer destination.

Day 3 to 6
Bohuslän Coast

Stay at Handlesman Flink or Villa Sjötorp. Handelsman Flink is widely regarded as one of the best hotels on the West Coast. This modern hotel has just 10 rooms all with fantastic sea views from a private balcony or terrace. Located in the heart of the Bohuslän Archipelago and just 1 hour from Gothenburg, this is the ideal place from which to explore this dramatic coastline.
Villa Sjötorp has just just ten charming traditional and individually decorated rooms with excellent personal service. During the long summer days, meals are served in the garden or on the terrace offering breathtaking views across an outstanding archipelago. A path leads down to a small beach and at the centre of the garden is a large tree from which hangs a swing that even the most grown up among you will not be able resist sitting on and soaking up the atmosphere.
Simply Sweden recommends a visit to The Kungshamn peninsula where you will find traditional Swedish fishing villages, craft shops and fine restaurants. Another location worthy of note is the island of Käringö and the Oyster Bar.

Day 6 to 8
Koster Islands

Stay on the car free Koster islands at the Sydkoster Hotel Ekenäs. Park your car in Strömstad and take the passenger ferry to Sweden's most westerly populated islands, terminating just 100m from your hotel. Attractions include this unique seaside location, beaches, rocky islands and of course the magic “Koster light”, which has inspired many artists on the island. Renting a bike and a guided tour are strongly recommended so you can appreciate all that is surrounding you. In 2009 the Koster Archipelago National Park will be inaugurated and the Koster islands will be preserved as a spectacular nature reserve
