Husky Excursions

• Husky sled - short tour
  Drive your own husky team into the silent winter landscape deep in Swedish Lapland. Together with an experienced guide you will prepare the dogs before embarking on a tour of about 25km (2-3hrs). Fika is included.

  A guided night walk in search of the magical Northern Lights. Enjoy a warm drink under the beautiful lapland night sky, and, with luck, the Northern Lights will dance above. £64 per person (2hr30)

Wilderness & Winter activities

• Ski / Snowshoe with lunch or fika ** Recommended **
  There’s no better way to explore the untouched winter landscape than on snowshoes or traditional wooden skis. Finding your own path through the forests and wetlands, along the rivers and over the lakes, the landscape is open for discovery. £58pp for 2-3hrs. £157 for 6hrs.
• Snow building & Sledging
  Experience winter, create and have fun. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, build a snow sculpture, castle or snow cave. If you wish, grab a toboggan and your guide will show you their favourite sliding slope. £40pp (2-3hrs)
• Moose Park Visit
  Visit a moose park on your way between Kiruna and Aurora Retreat. Please note this must be booked in advance and all fees are payable locally. The entrance to the moose park for 2010/11 was 125SEK. There is also a charge of 500sek per hour for the waiting transfer (min 250sek).
• ICEHOTEL
  During your holiday in Lapland and at Aurora Retreat we can include a stay at ICE HOTEL either before or after your stay at Aurora Retreat. Just ask for more details!

• Sami & reindeer
  Meet a reindeer herder and his reindeer, learn about his way of life and try your hand at some Sámi skills. Lunch in a “laavu”, Sámi tent. £132 per person (4-5hrs)
• Felt Making
  Felt making is a truly magical craft. The basics are very simple and something everyone can do. It is exciting to watch the carded wool turn into beautiful felted material. Learn to make felt and create your own project to take home. £54 per person (3hrs)
• Bread Making
  Pure water, sea salt and organic freshly milled flour. Learn to bake bread in our old wood-fired oven. A cosy indoor activity that’s satisfying and hands on. Enjoy your own delicious, fresh bread. £58pp (2-3hrs)

  Make, bake and decorate your own Christmas gingerbread figures. £37pp (2hrs - Dec only)
• Pancakes with Father Christmas
  Take a walk over snowy meadows to Santa’s secret hideaway where you will meet the great man himself! Santa and his helper invite your family for traditional Swedish pancakes. £87pp (2hrs - Dec only)
• Yoga
  Use breathing to help ground and release tensions your body. Yoga classes combining the classical method of Sivananda yoga with the intuitive and breathing based approach of Scaravelli yoga. No yoga experience necessary. £16pp (1hr30)
